First run

atrium has no setup wizard. The first launch drops you into calibration — three steps that get you from a blank install to a working agent, inside the real app rather than a modal in front of it.

Calibration

The Achievements pane opens in calibration mode with three steps, each carrying a single pointer at the thing to do next:

1. Open a project — bind a folder on disk. Until you do, atrium renders calibration without inventing a placeholder project for you to look at.
2. Connect a tool — point atrium at an agent CLI. See Launching → binary detection.
3. Launch your first agent.

The step cursor is derived, not stored: it is simply the first step you haven't completed. Completing all three unlocks Calibrated and the pane flips to its normal dashboard.

Calibration is uncloseable while active — the pane's ✕, Cmd+W, and the room close paths are all gated, so there is no way to accidentally dismiss the one surface telling you what to do. The lock lifts the instant calibration completes.

Consent

A consent row during calibration covers telemetry. Analytics are opt-in; declining does not gate any feature.

After calibration

The Achievements pane stays available as a map of everything atrium can do. Most people find several capabilities there they'd otherwise never have looked for.
